Conceptual Framework Paper

The conceptual framework is a work in progress that details the use of simulations in the medical practice. This conceptual framework presents a review of relevant literature related to fidelity and cognitive load. It concludes with recommendations on creating a hierarchy that increases in complexity as the learner becomes more proficient in the learning material.

Medical Diagnoisis Simulator

A medical diagnoisis simulator. The program presents patients who discuss their ailments with a doctor. The doctor goes through the simulation to determine the cause of the ailment and diagnose the patient. The new version using Articulate Storyline has more features in development, such as the ability for the facilitator to add their own cases with an edit menu.

Draft IRB Proposals for Simulation Research

An early draft from Fall 2014. This draft detailed simulation research that dealt with various concepts of cognitive load, fidelity, and case-based learning.

The revised draft IRB is for a research study based on fidelity levels in an educational curriculum. This IRB will attempt to research two different methods and their level of fidelity based on a survey tool created in Qualtrics. This version is more narrow in focus than the previous version. At the end of the semester, a new version with preliminary results of a non-IRB approved test run will be conducted.

(Will be added in April)

Draft AECT Proposal

Zax Inc. Module

The module details the use of disciplinary action based on employee actions. The material is presented with final evaulations that are in the form of short hypothetical cases.

Below are some pictures from a PowerPoint related to the module. Final work consisted of a PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline Module, a workbook, and a facilitator guide. Since much of the work is proprietary, I cannot show the materials in the portfolio.
